How to join if you are a student at Monte Sant Angelo Mercy College

If you are currently a student at Monte Sant Angelo Mercy College, it is very easy to join Model UN. At Monte there is a Model UN club that meets once a week on a Thursday lunch. This meeting is held in CMP101 and is open to all year levels and skill levels. In each week during this lunch session the current Model UN captains will teach you about MUN and how to do a Model UN conference through fun activities and slideshow presentations. These sessions will be even more helpful than this website as you will be able to ask experienced people for help when preparing for a conference or questions to just help your overall understanding.

If you are currently in high school and live in Australia it is quite likely that your school may have a Model UN club. You should talk to your head of year or email a student leader to check if there is a Model UN club.

Join a conference with aid from this website

This website may not fully prepare you for a conference- but if your school doesn't have a Model UN club, a good way to start Model UN is to fully throw yourself in with your first Model UN conference. If you do not know how to do this check the Frequency asked Questions tab below

Join a Model UN community or online club

Another way to join a Model UN club- if your school does not have one- is to join a community club or an online club/community. Check your local area for any currently run Model UN clubs and also check online for any virtual Model UN clubs.

This website will give you enough basic understanding of MUN for you to go for your first conference but it would be good to also be able to join a club as you will be able to ask questions to someone more experienced to aid your understanding.

The best way to check if there is any Model UN conferences coming up near you is through Instagram. Most schools either have a Model UN account for their school or post Model UN on their main account. Check a bunch of your local schools for Model UN conferences coming up- most of the time they will have a link in their bio to a google form to sign up.

Does it cost anything to join the Model UN club at Monte

To join a Model UN club it generally does not cost anything. At Monte joining the Model UN club is entirely free as well. However, going to conferences can cost money. The cost of a conference is really different per conference, but the average local conference is about 15 AUD per person.
